About DAE 

Vision

The Ohio University Office of Diversity, Access and Equity will seamlessly and effectively integrate diversity initiatives into every facet of university life. 

Mission 

To facilitate an infusion of diversity throughout institutional policies, practices, curricula and programs, leading to a supportive and affirming environment and positive experience for all students, faculty and staff. 

Goals for 2009-10

  • Refine and disseminate a consistent message about diversity. 
  • Develop a university-wide diversity strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity education and training program. 
  • Improve campus equity and accessibility through the promotion of essential institutional action, as referenced in Vision Ohio, Objective 18.
  • Collaborate with undergraduate admissions and the graduate college to develop innovative recruitment activities and sustained retention initiatives that increase the presence of underrepresented groups at Athens and regional campus, as referenced in Vision Ohio, Objective 10.
  • Acquire additional internal and external human and fiscal resources for DAE.
  • Begin to establish strong and consistent connections and collaborations with various internal and external constituents.
