This dynamic and innovative scholarship program requires participation from alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations to reach its goal of privately funding and supporting 200 Cutler Scholars.
Each endowed Cutler Scholars Award will bear the name of the benefactor who endows it, or the donor can name an award in honor of someone of his or her choice. The recipient of the award will be known as the "Benefactor's Name (or honoree name)-Manasseh Cutler Scholar," and each Scholar will carry the name in perpetuity. The endowment principal for each named Cutler Scholars Award must be sufficient to fully fund at least one student and to support a portion of the costs of the operation of the program.
Benefactors may designate their support for scholars:
- from a particular high school, city, or reasonable geographic region,
- who enroll in a particular college of the University,
- from a group with an identifiable common trait, e.g., children of employees of a corporation.
Non-designated endowments and gifts will enable the Board of Governors to award scholarships to qualified students from areas where no award currently may be available.
