How does teaching and learning in a semester format differ from that of a quarter system? This seminar will focus on teaching and learning challenges and opportunities in moving to a semester format including:
- helping to set students’ expectations at the beginning of the semester. (This issue will be especially important in the transition period of moving to a semester system);
- recharging students’ and teachers’ energies to avoid “mid-semester doldrums”;
- taking advantage of the semester format to gather and address student feedback at mid-term;
- effective ways to conclude the semester.
