Letter from the Chair:
Ohio University Classified Senate is celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year. Employees should watch for upcoming events to commemorate this event.
Classified Senate’s primary purpose is to provide communication between classified employees and university administrators. I encourage any classified employee who has questions, problems, suggestions, etc. to contact myself or any of our senate members. Classified employees are also encouraged to come to our monthly meetings, or join a committee – you do not need to be on senate to participate.
Classified Senate acknowledges outstanding employees with our Employee of the Month program. We are very pleased to recognize the hardworking and talented classified employees across campus as well as our regional campuses. Show your support for outstanding co-workers and employees. Please nominate employees that you see doing an outstanding job. EOTM Nomination Form. Employee of the month master list of recipients.
Senate members are hard at work raising money for our scholarships. We sell a variety of merchandise items online and at university functions. Watch for us at Homecoming and Graduation!! Also check-out our new item, the 1 ¼” Handpainted Pewter Bobcat Pin, which was just added to our list. Remember, all proceeds help fund our five student scholarships to Ohio University.
Classified Senate continues to provide opportunities for professional development. For example we encourage employees to use lynda.com and Learning Express training sites. These both include a multitude of topics.
If you are interested in learning more about Classified Senate, our meetings are open to the public. Our meeting schedule and minutes are available on our website. We hope you will become active with the senate and help us to accomplish and achieve improvements for a rewarding and positive work environment.
