The International Education Week Committee at Ohio University is accepting nominations for the annual Awards for Excellence in Global Engagement through August 31.

The awards recognize current and former faculty and staff, as well as alumni for their outstanding contributions to international education, global competency, cultural understanding and/or international programs at Ohio University or in their fields or disciplines. The awards are administered by International Education Week Committee and the Office of Global Affairs. 

One faculty, one staff and one alumnus award is presented each year during International Education Week at Global Engagement Gala. This year’s Gala will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14. This Compass article provides additional information on the Gala and the award winners from 2017. 

The faculty and staff recipients receive a plaque and $1,000 to support their professional development endeavors. The alumni recipient receives a plaque and a travel allowance to fully or partially cover the cost of travel to Athens to attend the award ceremony.
