Parents of Ohio University students visited the Athens Campus this past weekend to celebrate the first family weekend of the academic year.
Held each fall, Parents Weekend allows parents the opportunity to visit their student’s new home away from home and to immerse themselves in the Bobcat experience.
Parents Weekend is packed full of events – from sports and recreation to a comedy show. Part of the weekend, however, is likely spent getting to know the beautiful Athens Campus.
Parents Weekend is not just an opportunity for Bobcat families to get to know Ohio University but also to get to know each other.
No Parents Weekend would be complete with a trip – or two – down Court Street in uptown Athens to sample the local cuisine and to do some shopping.
Andrea Giffin and her parents, Vince and Pam Giffin, spent part of Parents Weekend at the Kennedy Museum of Art where they viewed some of the prints selected for display by Donald Roberts, professor emeritus of art at OHIO. The prints are part of the museum's permanent collection. Roberts selected the prints he felt best highlight the collection. Photo by Olivia Wallace
