Black Alumni Reunion: last call for hotel and lodging reservations

This year’s Black Alumni Reunion (BAR) will take place Sept. 27-29, and hotel packages offered through the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA) are selling out quickly.  Remaining hotel packages will be available only through Aug. 27., so returning alumni are encouraged to book now. Please note that no refunds will be issued after Aug. 23.

Weekend lodging specials currently are sold out at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center, but a number of other packages are still available in Athens for a short time including king, queen and whirlpool rooms at the Hampton Inn, as well as king rooms at the Holiday Inn Express.

Packages include one room with two nights accommodation (tax included). To book one of these discounted packages, please visit: www.ohioalumnievent.org and click the “continue” button at the bottom of the page. For all rooms, the check-in date is Sept. 27 and the check-out date is Sept. 29.

In addition to the packages being offered directly through the OUAA registration site, there are a number of other lodging options in the area offering discounted rates and room blocks. These hotels are the Baymont Inn & Suites in Athens; The Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersbug, W. Va.; the Wingate by Wyndham in Vienna, W. Va.; the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn, both located in Mineral Wells, W. Va; the Holiday Inn Express in Lancaster, Ohio; and the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Marietta, Ohio.

If you call to reserve rooms at any of these hotels, please be sure to mention “Black Alumni Reunion” when you make your reservation to ensure that you receive the OUAA discount.
