From staff reports
This summer, the Ecology and Energy Conservation Committee conducted a brief survey of faculty to gather data regarding the number of courses at Ohio University that focus on, or even touch upon, the subject of sustainability.
Faculty who took the survey were eligible to be entered into a drawing for gift certificates to local restaurants. The survey closed on July 11 and survey winners have been selected.
Those awarded with prizes (selected at random through an online random generator) were:
$50 Gift Certificate to Casa Nueva: Damien Cowger
$40 Gift Certificate to Schlegel’s Coffeehouse (Chillicothe campus): Gary Haynes
$30 Gift Certificate to Salaam: Sarah McGrew
$25 Gift Certificate to Village Bakery: Ryan Fogt
$20 Gift Certificate to Donkey Coffee: Michael Pfahl
Results of this survey will allow the university to further develop its promotion of incorporating sustainability in the classroom; the current theme of the university’s Common Experience Project.
Full results of this survey will be made available online at
It is the intention of the Office of Sustainability to continue to offer incentives for self-reporting sustainability curriculum information annually. All faculty members, regardless of discipline or interest in sustainability, will be encouraged again next year to participate in this survey.
