From staff reports
The Ridges Master Plan Committee will begin the next phase of their work with a kick off meeting scheduled June 10 with the newly selected architecture and engineering firm Schooley Caldwell Associates (SCA). The kick off meeting will be followed by a public meet and greet to allow members of the Ohio University and Athens communities to learn more about SCA and the master planning process.
The Ridges Master Plan Committee announced last Thursday the selection of SCA to aid the team of University and Athens community members tasked with crafting an updated master plan for The Ridges. With the help of SCA, as well as landscape architecture and planning firm MKSK, The Ridges Master Plan Committee will create The Ridges Master Plan Update – 2014 document. This document, building on the work of prior planning efforts, is intended to propose new ideas and strategies by which the University can utilize the asset of The Ridges and associated lands to further the University’s mission.
The public Meet and Greet will take place in Ridges Building 21 on June 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend. During the Meet and Greet, attendees will learn more about the firms, gain insight into historic preservation and master planning efforts, receive a brief overview of the process and have an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.
