A look back at Undergraduate Commencement (PHOTOS)

There were plenty of smiles and cheers and even a few tears this past weekend as more than 3,000 undergraduates capped off their academic journey at Ohio University during Commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 3, on the Athens Campus.

Ohio University administrators, faculty, staff and students as well as proud parents and loved ones packed the Convocation Center to honor members of OHIO’s Class of 2014 and welcome them into the Bobcat alumni family.

Here are few memorable moments from Saturday’s events:

A stalwart supporter of Ohio University, Stuckey shared with the graduates five lessons he learned throughout his personal and professional journey:

Don’t be afraid to get outside of your comfort zone.

Never lose sight of where you came from or compromise on your values.

Listen to your inner voice or gut in making important decisions in life. Let passion – not dollars – be your motivator.

Surround yourself with the brightest and smartest people you can find, and then try to keep out of their way.

It’s not the failures in life, but how we respond to them, that determine how much success we’ll ultimately achieve.
