Students pitch ideas in Shark Tank Experience [PHOTO ESSAY]

Imagine having just three minutes to convince a panel of business experts that your entrepreneurial idea has what it takes to succeed in the real world.

That's exactly what several Ohio University students did during the Feb. 28 event "From Paper to Reality: Pitch Your Proposal - A Shark Tank Experience." The event was part of College of Fine Arts guest lecturer Meredith Pizzi's visit to OHIO.

Pizzi, who owns Roman Music Therapy, encourages artists to think and plan for their futures with the eye of an entrepreneur. The Shark Tank Experience was modeled after a popular ABC Television show “Shark Tank,” where business hopefuls present their concepts to a panel of potential investors. No funding was provided for the OHIO students who presented, but they came away rich with professional feedback and advice on how to pursue their ideas.

Pizzi was hosted by The School of Music in collaboration with Arts for Ohio, the School of Dance, Film and Theater, The College of Fine Arts, as well as the American Music Therapy Association of Students and the Center for Entrepreneurship.
