Ohio University is open; the transformer failure that temporarily closed the West Union Street Office Center on Wednesday has been fixed. The building will reopen for business on Thursday morning.

Emeriti Day previews how campus will look in five to 10 years

President Roderick McDavis will speak at the Emeriti Day Reception, being held April 3 at 10 a.m. in the Schoonover Center lobby regarding building and renovation plans that will change the campus’s appearance considerably.

Sponsored by the Ohio University Emeriti Association, the event is open to all University personnel and students as well as the general public. Three campus planning/capital plan officials who will add commentary and help answer questions will accompany President McDavis. They include Harry Wyatt, associate vice president, architecture, design and construction; Joseph Lalley, senior associate vice president for information technology and administrative services; and Shawna Bolin, director of university planning and space management.

A digital presentation will enable the audience to visualize changes as the speakers talk about them. Light refreshments will be served. Schoonover Center, opened at the beginning of this semester, is located in the former Baker Center.
