As part of Ohio University International Education Week, the Graduate College, Office of Research and the Athena Cinema are sponsoring a free screening of the movie "Border Post," which was directed by Ohio University eminent scholar and Professor of Film Rajko Grlic.
The free screening will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 with a brief introduction by Professor Grlic.
Set in the spring of 1987 on the border of Yugoslavia and Albania, the movie uses comedy to set off a chain reaction that puts both countries on the brink of war.
"Rajko Grlic's film is a sometimes wistful, sometimes farcical comedy, in the honorable Eastern European tradition, set along the Yugoslav-Albanian border in the halcyon days of 1987," said Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com
Seating is limited to about 200 and tickets will be available at the door. Note: This film is not yet rated and may contain explicit content.
