Go With The Flow Poetry Slam is Saturday

The Ohio University Association for Black Journalists will host the Go With the Flow Poetry Slam at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Baker University Center 1804 Lounge located on the fifth floor.

The event will be hosted by Christian Phillips and Tiffany Bey and will feature local poets from multiple organizations on campus. The audience can expect a diverse program of work that is sure to captivate the inner-poet in all of us.

"We wanted to host an event that will benefit our campus as well as our community," says Aunjanna' Million, president of the Ohio University Association for Black Journalists. "We wanted to showcase the words and talent of our fellow classmates."

This traditional slam will include three rounds of original poetry with a time limit of 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Prizes include: $100 worth of gift cards for the first-place poet, $50 worth of gift cards for the second-place poet and $25 worth of gift cards for the third-place poet.

Any Ohio University student is welcome to register to participate and registration is open to the public until 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. Click here for the registration form.
