University Human Resources issues required insurance marketplace information

The information complies with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act


The Ohio University community received notification on Oct. 1 from University Human Resources (UHR) about the existence of health insurance Marketplaces. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires Ohio University to inform all employees of these Marketplaces. UHR sent the notices via email. They are also posted on the human resources website. Below is a summary of the information, categorized by employment status:

BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE FACULTY and STAFF: The University will continue to offer health insurance to eligible faculty and staff. Information regarding the university's health plans is available at http://www.ohio.edu/hr/benefits/index.cfm

GROUP 3 and/or TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES: You are NOT currently eligible for the Ohio University employer health plan.

STUDENT HOURLY EMPLOYEES or GRADUATE APPOINTEES: You are NOT currently eligible for the Ohio University employer health plan. You are, however, eligible to participate in the University's student health plans.
