Vice President for Finance and Administration Stephen Golding announced that Joseph M. Lalley has been appointed as the senior associate vice president (SAVP) for Information Technologies and Administrative Services. Lalley was selected for the position after a national search. His appointment will begin on August 1.
His background includes extensive technology, facilities and executive level experience from positions in business and higher education with over 29 years at Cornell University, most recently as the Senior Director for Facilities Operations. Lalley will oversee Information Technologies, Facilities and Risk Management and assist in the implementation of the Service Alignment Initiative.
"We are fortunate to recruit someone with Joe's background to join Ohio University," said Golding. "His experience and demonstrated ability to problem solve, his understanding of higher education's complex business processes and his commitment to the academic mission of the university impressed those who met him during the interview process. I'm confident that Joe's leadership will be integral to our ability to provide the highest quality administrative and technological support to the Ohio University community in the coming years."
In accepting the SAVP position, Lalley indicated that he was "honored by the offer and excited about the opportunity to work with the Finance and Administration Division and support their collective efforts to successfully complete Ohio's Service Alignment Initiative." He looks forward to meeting with individuals across the university in an effort to understand their business interests and needs.
