From staff reports
Vice President for Student Affairs Ryan Lombardi sent the following email to the Ohio University community on Thursday:
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Jenny Hall-Jones, Ohio University's interim associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students, has accepted my offer to assume the position on a permanent basis, effective May 1.
While our national search yielded three outstanding finalists for the position, Jenny emerged as the right candidate to fulfill this critical campus role. As interim dean, Jenny has worked tirelessly to maintain the strong history of student support and advocacy in the dean’s office. She has worked effectively with campus and city partners while moving several key initiatives forward during this transition year. I believe that Jenny will enhance the Dean of Students role and will help ensure that we continue to support Ohio University students in maximizing their educational experience.
I would like to acknowledge Executive Director of Residential Housing Peter Trentacoste for chairing the screening committee and would like to thank the entire committee for their time, commitment and thoughtfulness in this process and for identifying such a strong pool of finalists.
Students were also heavily involved in this search and the campus visits, and I am appreciative of their input and feedback. Finally, I would also like to thank the staff in the Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs for their involvement in the process and their hard work during this transition year.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Jenny Hall-Jones on her appointment as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students!
Ryan Lombardi, Ed.D.
