From staff reports
On Monday, Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis sent this email to all faculty, staff and students:
Dear Ohio University Students, Faculty, and Staff,
Today, Ohio Gov. John Kasich announced his proposed two-year budget for the state of Ohio. While there are not many details available at this stage of the process, the preliminary news is good.
The governor's proposed budget includes a 1.9 percent increase in each fiscal year of the budget for higher education. This represents a total new investment in higher education of $100 million over the biennium.
I want to thank the governor for his continued support of public higher education. Excellence and access are core Ohio University values. The governor's continued support of higher education will assist us in preserving quality and improving affordability.
When Ohio University’s specific funding allocations in the budget are released, I will share the information with you.
Thank you for the important work you do on behalf of Ohio University.
Roderick J. McDavis
