University announces changes in student employment eligibility


On Monday, University Human Resources and Student Financial Aid sent the following email to faculty and staff regarding student employment eligibility:



The guidelines for Student Employment Eligibility have been updated to align with the new academic calendar http://www.ohio.edu/financialaid/employment/emp_proc_elig.cfm.
 
In particular, please note that guidelines for employing students who have graduated have been adjusted. The new eligibility rules are included below. Your assistance in ensuring that student employees and individuals in your unit who hire and supervise them are aware of the changes is appreciated. Questions can be directed to Gwen Brooks (brooksgk@ohio.edu).
 
To be eligible for student hourly, PACE or Federal Work-Study employment at Ohio University, a student must:

1. Be enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary institution, or a secondary school, during the current semester, immediately previous semester, or immediately upcoming semester (e.g., enrollment spring semester allows work to continue through summer semester). Home schooled students must supply appropriate documentation.

NOTE: Continuing student employment for graduating students is limited to the following:

Graduating Semester..................Continuation of work limited to:
Fall Semester................................End of Winter Break
Spring Semester............................End of 1st Summer Session
1st Summer Session.......................End of 2nd Summer Session
2nd Summer Session or Full Summer Session.....September 30
