The Ohio University Airport, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will be holding CPR/AED courses for all interested university employees.
This program teaches the skills necessary to give immediate care to suddenly injured or ill person(s) until advanced medical personnel are able to arrive.
The training will be offered three times during the spring semester: Jan. 23, Feb. 20 and March 20. All classes will meet from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Human Resources and Training Center building at 169 W. Union St.
Participants will experience hands-on training with CPR mannequins and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); they also will be required to demonstrate proper CPR techniques and pass a written test to complete the course.
Each participant will receive a certification card valid for two years upon successful course completion.
A maximum of eight participants per session is allowed; each session lasts approximately six hours. Participants will be working with equipment on a classroom floor—please dress appropriately.
Course cost is $72 per person. Participant training supplies (workbook, barrier mask, gloves, etc.) are included in the cost of the session.
