From staff reports
On Thursday Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit and Vice President for Finance and Administration Stephen Golding sent an email to all Ohio University faculty and staff regarding the phased compensation project.
Dear Colleagues:
Later this month, Ohio University will begin the first phase of a two-year compensation project covering classified non-bargaining employees and administrative/professional employees on all campuses. This project, called COMPENSATION 2014, will entail a review of current job classifications, the development of new pay plans, and the creation of effective performance management strategies.
A Steering Team has been created to review and provide advice on project objectives, communication strategy, deliverables, and timelines. The names of the confirmed members of the team are listed at the end of the message. In addition to the Steering Team, University Human Resources (UHR) will be assisted by the Human Resources Management Group (HRMG), an existing representative group of individuals who frequently work on human resources matters in their respective units.
The Steering Team will advise UHR on objectives and policies, while HRMG members will provide specific guidance on how best to ensure the success of project goals. Aon Hewitt, an experienced human resources consulting firm, has been hired to assist with the project, and to ensure its completion within the timeframe mandated by a Department of Education resolution agreement.
We plan to provide regular updates on the project as it progresses. A website is being developed that will archive communications, describe each phase of the process, and provide a set of FAQs.
Karen Hudson, director of compensation, is leading the project. Please feel free to contact her at 593-1641or hudson@ohio.edu if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Pam Benoit
