The Southern Ohio Copperheads will host the first-ever Wifflemania wiffleball tournament and home run derby on Saturday, May 5, at Ohio University's McCracken Field.
Ohio University students, faculty and moms, along with families in the Athens community, are all invited to enjoy the day of fun, games and prizes.
Wifflemania, sponsored by Fahlgren Mortine, will consist of a competitive wiffleball tournament (guaranteed three games per team) and a home run derby – for $10 per person with teams of three to five players.
Throughout the event, entertainment will be provided by the Power 105.5 Jambulance. The start times will vary upon the number of registered teams; but it is tentatively slated to begin at 10 a.m. and conclude around 3 p.m.
Teams can consist of anyone, including friends and visiting moms. To register your team, check out our Facebook page for the official entry form: http://www.facebook.com/wifflemania2012.
"We at the Southern Ohio Copperheads are excited to bring this unique event to Athens and the Ohio University community," said Abigail Peterson, director of community outreach at the Copperheads. "High school and college students, professors and moms -- everyone is welcome to compete!"
