From staff reports
The Ohio University Alumni Association's Greater Charlotte Chapter Network is hosting the ninth Annual Charlotte Networking Week (CNW) on Feb. 23 and 24. This program, set in Charlotte, N.C., is open to both current students and alumni.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend the networking trip and get a jumpstart on their post-graduation plans. Both students and alumni can research Charlotte's job market by meeting with alumni who live in the area and explore various career opportunities the city has to offer.
The event will kick-off Thursday, Feb. 23 with career-focused alumni panels, followed by a cocktail hour. The Alumni Banquet, including dinner, will be held at the Aloft Uptown Charlotte at the Epicenter. Ty Votaw, an Ohio University alumnus from the class of 1984, will be the keynote speaker.
Festivities will continue Friday as students and alumni go on company visits in the morning to one of the following: Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Taylor, International Paper, Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, Duke Energy, Premier Inc, Wells Fargo or the Local Teacher Shadowing Program. In the afternoon, they can tour either the Carolina Panthers Stadium, Time Warner Cable Arena or take a walking tour of Uptown Charlotte. CNW will conclude with a Happy Hour in the evening.
Registration is $40 and does not include travel or lodging arrangements. Travel and lodging arrangements are the responsibility of the student or alumni attending. Registration is handled on a first come, first serve basis.
