Board of Trustees approves emeriti awards

Three administrators receive same honor

The Ohio University Board of Trustees last week awarded the following faculty members emeriti status based on the recommendation of those individuals' supervisors and colleagues. 

The list also includes three administrators who were approved for emeriti status in November. The status is effective upon retirement.

Emeritus or Emerita status is conferred upon a faculty member or presidential contract administrator at the time of his or her retirement or posthumously, if the individual is deemed worthy of this special recognition.

This judgment should be based on the following criteria:

• Length of service (except in special circumstances, a minimum of 10 years). Quality of teaching and research or performance in the administrative position
  
  
• Overall contribution to the University
  
  
• Service to society beyond the University community.
