The recipients for the 2011 Ohio University Alumni Association Awards were presented and approved at the recent annual meeting of the Ohio University Alumni Association Board of Directors. These awards will be presented during Homecoming weekend at the annual Alumni Awards Gala, to be held on Oct. 14.
Alumnus of the Year
This honoree must have previously been awarded the Medal of Merit or Distinguished Service Award, and demonstrated him or herself as a distinguishable professional in his or her field or demonstrated notable service and continued support to Ohio University.

Distinguished Service
This award recognizes those who provide active, exceptional services on behalf of alumni clubs, chapters, constituent societies and, in special instances, extraordinary contributions to Ohio University colleges and schools.

Each of these recipients has demonstrated both achievement and commitment in their post-collegiate lives. While some may not be alumni, they have certainly supported, contributed, and represented the OHIO community to the conviction of a Bobcat. The Ohio University Alumni Association proudly honors those who have remained dedicated to Ohio University and continue to achieve remarkable success in all their endeavors.
