From staff reports
The Ohio University Alumni Association’s Greater Charlotte Area Chapter Network will host its eighth annual Charlotte Networking Week in starting Thursday, Feb. 24, and ending Friday, Feb. 25. Approximately 100 Ohio students attended the event last year.
Current Ohio University students with a professional interest in working in the Charlotte area are invited to attend the two-day event for an excellent opportunity to meet and network with Ohio alumni in Charlotte, one of the fastest growing areas for Ohio alumni, with roughly 1,500 working in the area.
The event will include a Career Focus Alumni Panel discussion and tours of major companies and arenas within the city, as well as an alumni banquet on Thursday night. Students will also be able to see local sports teams in action at the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) Hockey Game on Thursday night and/or the NBA Charlotte Bobcats’ home game on Friday against the Sacramento Kings. Tickets for the basketball game are $20 and must be purchased online.
Registration for the event is $50 per student and includes admittance to all professional and networking events as well as the alumni banquet. Students are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. All alumni are encouraged to attend as the event is a great way to make connections with current Ohio students.
Alumni and student registration for all events, daily agendas and hotel listings are available at www.ohioalumni.org/charlotte.
