Annual weekend to celebrate Bobcat Sibs

Both big and little sibs look forward to heading to Ohio University's campus, Feb. 18-20, for the annual Sibs Weekend.

This weekend gives brothers and sisters a chance to hang out and bond together during the school year and provides an opportunity for younger sibs to get a taste of what college life is really like.

Senior Kristen Reid, an advertising and graphic design major, credits her decision to attend Ohio University to visiting her older sister every year on Sibs Weekend.

"Before Sibs I had no idea what to expect from college or even where I wanted to go," said Reid. "But when I came to visit my sister Liz, I had such an amazing time. She took me to a concert at
The Union, we went to a basketball game and she gave me a tour of all her favorite spots on campus. I knew I would fit in perfectly."

Liz Reid, who graduated in 2006 from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in telecommunications, says Sibs Weekend was always her favorite weekend of the year.

"Sibs was always the weekend my friends and I looked the most forward to," said Reid. "It was the only time I was able to see my little sister because we were both so busy. And now that she goes to OU, the roles have reversed and I come back and visit her on Sibs Weekends!"

In addition to sibs, cousins, friends and other family members are invited to come and share in this favorite Ohio University tradition.

Bus transportation to campus will be provided from Akron, Cleveland-area, Toledo and Youngstown. Please visit ohioalumni.org/sibs for more information. Here is a preview of Sibs Weekend events:
