'Avenue Q' musical returns to Ohio University

Tickets go on sale Jan. 12

Tickets for three-time Tony Award winning musical "Avenue Q" will go on sale Jan. 12 for an April 12 encore performance in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Last year, tickets to the popular musical were sold out when it came to Ohio University, so this encore performance was scheduled as a second chance for fans who missed it the first time.

"Avenue Q" is about trying to make it in New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Known as a hilarious show full of heart and hummable tunes – it was called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see" by Entertainment Weekly. It features a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risqué, and downright entertaining way. The musical is recommended for mature audiences only.

"Avenue Q" is a special add-on performance to the OHIO Performing Art Series. Ticket prices start at $22. To order tickets, call the box office at 740-593-1780 or visit the Performing Arts website at www.ohio.edu/performingarts.
