In her last meeting as chair of Classified Senate on Thursday, Tammy Jordan thanked the senators for their good work during the past year.
She encouraged them to stay focused on representing the university's classified employees to the best of their ability. also told them to not let distractions affect the way they do their job.
"Don't get the googly eyes and lose your focus," Jordan said.
On July 1, former academic year chair George Cheripko will succeed Jordan as president, after serving in the same position during the 2007-08 academic year. Joining Cheripko as executive officers are Secretary Amy Meeks and Treasurer Tami Walker. Jordan will serve as past chair and the positions of chair-elect, secretary-elect and treasurer-elect for the 2010-11 academic year will be determined later this summer.
Newly elected senators for next year include Bonnie Behm-Geddes, Louise Bell, Brenda Llewellyn, Annette Love, and Tracy Inman. Returning senators who were re-elected to new three-year terms include Walker, Jeff Fulk, Judy Martin, and Traci Winchell. Meeks was the only returning senator re-elected to a new two-year term.
