C-SPAN to Cover Talk by Ohio University Press Author

C-SPAN's American History TV will cover a Thursday "Hail to the Chiefs" presidential talk by Ohio University Press author Philip Payne. The event, which takes place in Kansas City, is co-sponsored by the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and the Kansas City Public Library.

Payne, an associate professor of history at St. Bonaventure University, is the author of "Dead Last: The Public Memory of Warren G. Harding's Scandalous Legacy," published by Ohio University Press. Choice magazine called the book "first-rate scholarship" and named it an "Outstanding Academic Title" in 2009.

The Kansas City Public Library's director of public affairs says the Hail to Chiefs program has been an extremely successful presidential series. Payne's Thursday talk will take place at 6:30 p.m.
