COMPENSATION PROJECT

The general objectives of the Compensation Project are to create a compensation system that:

  • Can be consistently used and applied throughout the university

  • Provides a pay opportunity that is competitive in the marketplace

  • Provides the flexibility needed to respond to change and to help attract and retain talent

  • Supports organizational effectiveness

The Compensation project began on September 2, 1999, the Steering and Project Teams kicked off the project, which is the culmination of a variety of initiatives:

University Human Resources Long Range Planning

A Compensation Task Force

An HR audit, conducted by an external university consultant, that identified some issues with our current compensation practices

On-going dialogue with the University's governance bodies, especially the Classified Senate
