University's continued success as a research institution will depend on its ability to
attract and retain not only the brightest faculty and students, but also the best staff.
Rapid changes in technology and a more competitive labor market have brought about changes
not only in the way we do work, but also in the way we compete for talented and qualified
employees, and how we recognize and reward the skills we need to compete in today's
vigorous work environment. Ohio University at Work is a project comprised of four initiatives: Communication, Compensation, Performance Management, and Training. The Communication, Performance
Management, and Training projects began in January 2001 as a result of
information gathered during the Discover Phase of the Compensation
Project.
