Nutrition Program

About the Program

The Nutrition program (pre-medicine/pre-professional) is for those interested in a career in areas such as nutrition, medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and physical therapy. Graduates of the program receive a bachelor of science. Students in the program must maintain a minimum overall grade-point average of 2.0 (C) and must also earn a 2.0 or better in all required courses within the major.

Admission

Admission requirements to the Nutrition program are the same as those for admission to Ohio University in general. No special prerequisites need to be met prior to declaring a major in Nutrition. Candidates are encouraged, however, to begin the program early in their college careers. High school chemistry and biological science courses also are strongly recommended. For information on admission to Ohio University for both freshmen and transfer students, go online to Ohio University Admissions.
