The Light Book
Children from the infant classrooms of the Ohio University Child Development Center have been engaging in an ongoing exploration of light. This project has been evolving since April 2003, and has led to the creation of a light studio designed for infants and young toddlers. The Light Book highlights some of the experiences which have taken place with light, reflection and shadows. These experiences have been documented over a period of five months.

Through a Drain Investigation

On July 6, 2003, a class of children at the Center discovered a drain. “My first inclination was to keep the children on task. Something told me to stop and watch. If the children are this interested in something, shouldn’t I be trying to understand why?” the teacher said.

The Acrobat file features the ongoing investigation.
