The Inorganic Chemistry division within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ohio University provides a wide range of scientific interests to be pursued by both the M.S. and Ph.D. student. The research interests of the faculty include such disparate areas as organometallic chemistry, catalysis, bioinorganic chemistry, nanoporous solids inorganic spectroscopy, and solid-state materials. Techniques within the division that are routinely employed include nanosecond time-resolved spectroscopy, electrochemistry calorimetry and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. The division is active at both national and local ACS meetings as well as more specialized conferences such as the Gordon Research Conferences (Inorganic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry). The division publishes actively in front-line ACS and Royal Society of Chemistry journals. Members of the division are actively involved in collaborations with other Department members, Department of Physics, the Russ College of Engineering and Technology and the Condensed Matter and Surface Science Program.
