Chemical Engineering - Energy and the Environment Track

In order to complete the Chemical Engineering - Energy and the Environment Track, the student must complete:

  1. All specific courses currently required for the chemical engineering degree, and

  2. four courses of at least three hours each from the approved list for that track (see details and link below).

Some of the courses listed in the file linked to below have prerequisites listed within parentheses that differ from those listed in the catalog. These courses have occasionally been accepted as alternates to those prerequisites listed in the catalog. The acceptance of alternate prerequisites is at the discretion of the individual course instructor. In general, other RCENT departments have accepted CHE courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow in place of their courses. It is the responsibility of the student to check with individual instructors about course prerequisites.

Information provided below is based upon published information in the Ohio University undergraduate catalogue and recent class schedules. Appearance in this list does not guarantee that a course will be offered again or that the prerequisites will not change.

Note that, in the above file, courses approved for the Energy and the Environment Track are shown with an E after the course description.
