Application Deadlines For Graduate Study
March 1 is the deadline for priority financial assistance consideration for fall quarter applicants. Applications received after March 1 will still be considered for admission but will not have first priority for financial aid.
March 1 is the deadline for international applications without financial assistance for a Fall start. This allows plenty of time for you to receive an I-20 and a visa. We cannot rush production of an I-20 for a late applicant.
M.S. students should start in fall quarter, however, Ph.D. students may start in any quarter according to the following schedule:
- Winter quarter (begins in January); apply by June 1
- Spring quarter (begins in March); apply by October 1
- Summer quarter (begins in June); apply by January 1
Because there is no need for an I-20 or a visa, U.S. citizens and permanent residents can apply as late as two months prior to the start of the quarter. However, such a late applicant is unlikely to receive financial assistance.
