Voinovich School congratulates Student Research Expo winners

More than 600 Ohio University students participated in the Student Research and Creativity Expo on May 3.

The Voinovich School awarded three outstanding student presentations $150.

  • Holly Strickland, a Voinovich School Undergraduate Research Scholar, with Amy Borchardt, showcased an examination of the barriers and facilitators of breastfeeding and how to best approach Appalachian women.
  • Renee Barber, a Master of Environmental Studies student, looked at the interaction of acid mine drainage and untreated sewage discharge in Snow Fork Creek, Murray City, Ohio.
  • Eric Converse, another Voinovich School award winner, presented a 3D visualization of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
