Sponsored by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) & co-hosted by U.S. Senator George Voinovich, the Ohio Governor's Office of Appalachia (GOA), the Ohio Governor's Energy Advisor, and the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.
The Appalachian Ohio Energy Economic Development Summit brought together over 100 professionals involved with economic development in the 29-county Appalachian Ohio region to talk about utilizing energy as a tool for economic growth.
Energy has traditionally played an important role in the economy of this region. Advanced energy technologies and policies provide the region with the chance to build on this history and to implement economic development strategies to take advantage of these new energy-related opportunities. The event was just the first step toward possible new energy-related economic development.
