Foundations

Leadership for First-Year Students

Foundations Leadership Experience is designed to provide first-year students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and training in leadership development. The Career and Leadership Development Center encourages students to gain leadership experience in and outside the classroom.

Through participation in this six-week certificate bearing program, students gain the opportunity to meet other first-year students, better define their own leadership style, and participate in community service opportunities.

Foundations is held in Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center, Baker 366.  It begins week three of spring semester and offers two cohorts - Monday night cohort or Thursday night cohort.

Week 1: Bobkittens to Bobcats: Beginning Your Journey

Week 2: Athenian Wisdom: Reflecting on Your Reactions

Week 3: Declaring Your Independence: Identifying Your Values

Week 4: Bobcat Branding: Shaping Your Leadership Style

Week 5: Connected since 1804: Networking and Career Preparation

Week 6: Bobcats Care: Community Service Project
