Leadership for First Year Students

Our Foundations Series Program is designed to give first year students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and training in leadership development. Here in the Career and Leadership Development Center, we encourage students to gain leadership experience in and outside of the classroom.

Foundations is one way we can provide this experience to our first year OHIO students. By participating in this six week certificate bearing program, students will have the opportunity to meet other first year students, better define their own leadership style, and participate in community service opportunities.

Foundations begins week four of the semester, and there will be two cohorts students can choose to participate in this spring. The first meetings will occur on Monday, September  8, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm and Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm in the Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center (Baker Center 3rd floor).

Week 1: Bobkittens to Bobcats: Beginning Your Journey

Week 2: Athenian Wisdom: Reflecting on Your Reactions

Week 3: Declaring Your Independence: Identifying Your Values

Week 4: Bobcat Branding: Shaping Your Leadership Style

Week 5: Connected since 1804: Networking and Career Preparation

Week 6: Bobcats Care: Community Service Project
