Career Coaching

Thirty-minute career coaching sessions are for any topic related to major and career exploration, job and internship searches, and graduate school processes. Career coaching meetings are facilitated by professional staff and focus on identifying short-term action steps that fit best with the individual’s career needs.

Leadership Coaching

Through Leadership Coaching you develop key skills essential to employers, with the support of a personalized process and a professional coach. During three, 30-minute sessions over a period of four weeks, you will:

  • Identify your top five strengths with StrengthsFinder
  • Set 2 short-term goals to improve your experience within one leadership skill
  • Learn to articulate your accomplishments

This unique experience can benefit you at any point during your education, and it equips you to independently develop leadership skills and achieve goals throughout your life.

Mission Statement

The Career & Leadership Development Center is committed to holistic preparation of all Ohio University students and alumni/ae for active development and implementation of career and leadership skills necessary in our global community.

We accomplish this by: 
1. Facilitating a process of self-awareness that encourages all students and alumni/ae to engage in career exploration and holistic leadership skill development
2. Helping students and alumni/ae recognize, synthesize, and communicate their experiences
3. Fostering collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and employers to connect students with innovative resources, services and employment opportunities
4. Empowering students to be lifelong learners by providing learning opportunities to construct the following leadership skills; self-awareness, interpersonal development, team development, organizational development and innovation
