Four key areas across the university coordinate the development, monitoring and implementation of Ohio University's budget, which totals some $657 million annually.
The Office of Budget Planning and Analysis, part of the Division of Finance and Administration, has budget management responsibility for the entire university. The office works closely with the Office of Associate Provost for Academic Budget and Planning, which focuses on budget matters related to the academic planning units.
Both offices provide staff support for the Budget Planning Council, a 15-member body that advises the administration on current and multi-year budget issues, long-term financial policies and funding priorities. The council represents the entire campus community on budget matters and provides feedback from their various constituent groups on budget policy and financial planning issues.
The council is co-chaired by the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, who also oversee the key units with budget responsibilities.
