Summer 2011 Application (sorry, this link is temporarily broken . . . contact us by email at awp@ohio.edu or by phone at 740.593.2784 for your application today!)
Note the new extended deadline: March 26, 2011
The 2011 Summer Institute is an intensive graduate program to develop our area’s finest teachers as writers, teacher-researchers, and teachers of writing. It will be held June 20 - July 15 on the Ohio University - Athens campus. During that time, we’ll meet every Monday through Friday to work on our own writing—both personal and professional—and to research, study, and share with each other effective ways of teaching writing.
The teachers admitted to this year’s Summer Institute will receive a full scholarship that includes tuition and fee waivers for the 10 graduate hours of the Institute, as well as all required textbooks. Although we primarily serve Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Lawrence, Vinton, and Washington counties, we do take into consideration those who live and teach outside of this area. Be sure to contact our office at 740-593-2784 if you have any questions.
