Fulbright Award
The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with additional support provided by participating governments and international host institutions, is our country’s largest international exchange program. It offers opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake advanced research, teaching, and learning opportunities in locations around the world. As established by Congress in 1946, the goal of the program is to “increase mutual understanding between people of the United States and the people of other countries.” <br><br>The international scope of these awards make OHIO’s Fulbright scholars our adventurers—and our ambassadors—as they apply the academic skills they’ve honed at Ohio University in continuing their studies around the world.

Health Communication

Amy Busch

A native of Hamler, Ohio, Amy is a senior majoring in health communication with a certificate from the Global Leadership Center and the Teaching English as a Foreign Language program. Her Fulbright grant to South Korea will give her the opportunity to teach conversational English classes and study the Korean language.

In addition to her studies at Ohio University, she is the treasurer of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association Honor Society, and she received the Communication Studies Undergraduate Achievement Award. In the future, she would like to be an international health consultant working on global health communication campaigns and programming.
