About the Goldwater Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding undergraduate sophomores and juniors studying science, mathematics, engineering, or computer science, the one- and two-year Barry M. Goldwater scholarships cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year. The program is aimed at stimulating highly qualified individuals to enter the science, mathematics, and engineering fields.

An outstanding sophomore, Eden received a 2009 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship Honorable Mention. After completing her undergraduate work, she plans to earn a graduate degree in immunology and conduct research in immunobacteriology.
