Volpe Omni IV CNS Contract
The Volpe National Transportation Center supports programs in the Aeronautical CNS area by multiple award contracts. These contracts address air and ground-based communications as well as surveillance and control systems and technologies, including:
- airborne and ground-based wide area navigation
- precision landing and guidance
- air and land traffic management systems
- system requirements definition
- alternatives analyses and designs
- sensors and systems development and deployment
- test, evaluation, operations, and maintenance of developmental or prototype navigation, communications, and surveillance systems and
- the interfaces between these systems and the other elements of the transportation infrastructure.
The five task areas supported by the Volpe OMNI CNS contract include:
- Radio Frequency Engineering Technology
- Aircraft Surveillance
- Airport Operations
- National Airspace System Engineering and Implementation
- Air Traffic Management
The Ohio University Avionics Engineering Center is a subcontractor to two prime contractors: Titan and Quantech Services.
