Chris Bartone earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Ohio University in 1998. He holds a MSEE from the Naval Postgraduate School and a BSEE from The Pennsylvania State University.

He worked for the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division from 1983 to 1998, performing research, development, test and evaluation on communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) systems.

His research interests are electronic navigation systems, augmentation to the Global Positioning System (GPS), electromagnetic wave propagation, antennas, simulation and stimulation, RF networks, communication, and radar systems.

He is a member of the Institute of Navigation, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Association of Old Crows.
