Frank Alder is an Ohio University alumnus, having earned a B.S.E.E. (with mathematics minor) in 1996 and a M.S.E.E. in 1998. Both of his degrees were completed with specialization in communication systems. His graduate research focused on specific error-correction coding techniques and their associated signal constellations.
Upon joining the Avionics Engineering Center in May 2001, Frank's work has included the development of error-control coding and signal acquisition schemes for use in the Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) project. He has also performed reduction and analysis of test data for the Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) program.
Frank was a recipient of the Stocker Research Associateship for graduate study at Ohio University He is registered as an EIT with the Ohio Board of Professional Engineers and is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu, Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key national honor societies.
