Renée A. Middleton, Ph.D., has been named dean of the College of Education at Ohio University, effective Aug. 14, President Roderick J. McDavis announced at a May 18, 2006, news conference.

Middleton is currently director of research, human resource development and outreach at Auburn University (Ala.), a position she has held since 1994. As dean at Ohio University, she will oversee the college's three departments: Counseling and Higher Education, Educational Studies and Teacher Education.
