Richland Avenue and OH-682 Intersection

The intersection of OH-682 and Richland Avenue was re-constructed in 2010; it was a traffic-light-controlled intersection, but is now a "roundabout" or "traffic circle." At the same time, a pedestrian tunnel was added under OH-682 on the northwest side of the intersection, and the Richland Avenue bridge over the Hocking River was re-constructed to include a sidewalk on the northwest side only.

Traffic already in the roundabout has the right-of-way over traffic about to enter. For traffic approaching the roundabout on OH-682 from US-50 and US-33, there are two lanes:

  • Use the right lane if you are going to cross the Hocking River and enter the campus on Richland Avenue (e.g., to reach Peden Stadium, the Convocation Center, or Baker University Center).

  • Use the left lane if you are going to continue on OH-682 toward The Ridges, or if you are going to the Ohio University Inn on Richland Avenue.


South McKinley Avenue

South McKinley Avenue is closed from just South of Nelson Commons to South Green Drive (between the new residence hall and the Wolfe Street parking lot), as shown on the illustration, below.


West Mulberry Street, South Court Street, and Park Place

The intersection of West Mulberry Street, South Court Street, and Park Place (in front of the new Baker University Center) has been re-constructed and those streets are now open to traffic:

  1. The last block of South Court Street, from President Street to Mulberry Street and Park Place, is open to traffic one-way only, from Mulberry Street and Park Place toward President Street. Construction has been completed, providing a bike path and wider sidewalks on this block of Court Street, to accommodate the heavier foot and bicycle traffic to and from the new Baker University Center.

  2. Park Place is open to traffic in both directions.

  3. West Mulberry Street is open to traffic one-way only, from Richland Avenue to Court Street and Park Place.
